New Zealand has approved medicinal use of psilocybin, a psychedelic compound found in 'magic mushrooms' to treat certain types of depression. There will, however, be strict regulations governing prescription of psilocybin in the country and it can only be prescribed by qualified professionals under specific circumstances, such as other forms of treatment not yielding results, reports claimed.
