NZ faces glacier loss, heatwaves amid record GHG levels

New Zealand's 'Our Atmosphere and Climate 2026' report warns of rising climate stress. Temperatures have risen 1.36°C since 1909, glaciers shrunk from 56 to 30 cubic km since 1997, CO2 up 30% since 1972, and methane hit record highs in 2025. Heatwaves will grow more frequent and intense by 2050.
