Odia language signboards made mandatory for shops in Odisha

The Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday made it mandatory for all shops and commercial establishments to have the Odia language on signboards. Once the rule is implemented, establishments will have to comply within a month or pay fines ranging between ₹1,000 and ₹5,000 for a first violation. The fine will rise to between ₹2,000 and ₹25,000 for a second violation.
