The Odisha government has declared 'bhang', which is a preparation from the leaves and small stalks of the Indian Hemp Plant (Cannabis Sativa), as an intoxicant. The order stated that when 'bhang' is "smoked, chewed eaten or infused and drunk" it has the potential to cause symptoms of grandiosity, excitement, hostility, disorientation, hallucinations and thought disorder.
