Odisha releases 12 critically endangered crocodile

Odisha recently released 12 critically endangered gharials (crocodile) into the Mahanadi River at Satkosia Gorge, raising the total population there to 35. These fish-eating crocodiles were raised and cared for at Nandankanan Zoological Park and fitted with trackers to monitor their movements. This effort aims to restore the natural balance and boost the wild gharial population.
