Odisha’s Ahimsa silk weaves profits from cruelty-free textiles

From dressing Lord Jagannath to fetching premium prices, Odisha's Ahimsa silk is creating new opportunities for weavers and cocoon growers. Made without killing silkworms, the fabric is tapping into growing global demand for cruelty-free textile. While traditional Khandua Pata saree costs at least ₹10,000, its Ahimsa Silk counterpart is priced at ₹12,000.
