A video of Tesla CEO Elon Musk from 2008 has gone viral, in which he explains why his company's cars are expensive. He explained, "Whenever somebody buys Tesla Roadster, even though it's a $100,000 car, every penny that Tesla makes, goes into the development of a smaller lower-cost vehicle." He also joked, "My salary is minimum wage...I'm a volunteer, basically."
