The BJP accused Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah of "glorifying rioters" after he compared the 1931 Martyrs' Day killings in Srinagar to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. "That was colonial brutality against unarmed civilians. July 13 was a communal mob trying to burn down the order. Do not insult our freedom movement by twisting facts," BJP's Tarun Chugh said.
