Omar takes U-turn, to contest J&K Assembly polls from Ganderbal

Former Jammu and Kashmir CM and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah will contest Assembly elections from Ganderbal constituency. The announcement was made by Lok Sabha MP Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani. This is in contrast with Abdullah's earlier statement that he wouldn't contest Assembly elections as long as J&K remained a union territory.
