The Omicron is now the dominant variant of the coronavirus in the US, accounting for 73% of new infections last week. The highly mutated coronavirus strain has been detected across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. The Delta variant has now receded to roughly 27% of sequenced cases.
