Chinese shipping and logistics conglomerate COSCO Shipping's container liner unit, one of the world's largest shipping companies, suspended all new bookings for routes to and from ports in Middle East region. The move was due to escalating conflict in the region and the Strait of Hormuz's closure, COSCO said. "We're [assessing] disposal plans...for the cargo already on board," it added.
