One of the two National Guard members, shot by a suspected Afghan immigrant in Washington DC, has died, while the other remains in critical condition, US President Donald Trump said. The deceased soldier, Sarah Beckstrom, was a "highly respected, young, magnificent person", Trump said, adding that he learned of her death just before a Thanksgiving video call with troops.
