One-week social media break eases anxiety, depression: Study

A JAMA Network Open study of young adults found that cutting social media use for one week significantly reduced depression, anxiety, and insomnia, especially among those with severe baseline symptoms. Depression fell by nearly 25% and anxiety by 16%. Loneliness did not improve, suggesting short-term mental health benefits without affecting social connectedness.
