Onion prices in B'desh, Sri Lanka surge after India bans exports
The prices of onions in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have surged after India banned exports amid high local prices. Onion prices in Sri Lanka have risen by 50% in a week to 280-300 Sri Lankan rupees (₹110-120) per kg. In the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, onion prices doubled from two weeks ago to 120 taka (₹101) per kg.
