Randy Suess, creator of the first-ever online bulletin board which led to the rise of messaging and social media, died on December 10 at the age of 74. Suess and IBM engineer Ward Christensen created Computer Bulletin Board System (CBBS) - a messaging system that gave users a central medium to talk. His death was confirmed by his daughter Karrie.
