The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has clarified that the contributions to 'Chief Minister's Relief Fund' or 'State Relief Fund for COVID-19' won't qualify as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure while donations to the PM CARES Fund will. However, contributions made to State Disaster Management Authorities will qualify as CSR expenditure. The PM CARES Fund was constituted last month.
