Google's AI, Gemini 2.5 Deep Think, and OpenAI's GPT-5 secured gold medal-level performances at International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), which is known as the "coding Olympics". Competing against 139 teams, Gemini finished in the top four by solving 10 out of 12 real-world coding problems. Meanwhile, GPT-5, which wasn't trained for ICPC, solved 11 of the 12 problems.
