OpenAI on Monday launched a new AI model called GPT-4o with improved capabilities in text, video and audio. The new model allows users to interact with ChatGPT like an assistant and has the ability to perceive emotions and can also handle users interrupting it. GPT-4o is also capable of generating voice in a range of different emotive styles.

A species of wolf that died out 12,500 years ago has been brought back to life, according to Dallas-based biotech company Colossal Biosciences. Scientists have created three dire wolf pups by using ancient DNA, cloning and gene-editing technology to alter the genes of a grey wolf. The result is essentially a hybrid species similar in appearance to its extinct predecessor.

US' Supreme Court has rejected 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks accused Tahawwur Rana's plea seeking a stay on his extradition to India. Rana, who is a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, is currently lodged in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Rana was arrested in the US in 2009 for his involvement in terrorism-related activities.

US stock markets flipped losing trends within a few minutes as Dow Jones Industrial Average rose nearly 2,600 points between its intraday low and high. They rose after reports claimed US President Donald Trump is considering pausing reciprocal tariffs for 90 days. Following White House's denial of the report minutes later, Dow Jones fell 1,600 points from its intraday high.

Gold prices fell ₹1,550 to close at ₹91,450 per 10 grams in Delhi on Monday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The precious metal of 99.9% purity had dropped ₹1,350 to close at ₹93,000 per 10 grams on Friday. Meanwhile, silver prices have plunged by ₹3,000 to close at ₹92,500 per kg on Monday.

India's first vertical lift sea bridge, the new Pamban Bridge in Tamil Nadu, got stuck on the day of inauguration, The Hindu reported. The lift span was seen in a slanted position in videos that surfaced on social media. After approximately 30 minutes of troubleshooting, officials managed to bring the lift back down, The Hindu said.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday announced that the cost of each LPG cylinder will be hiked by ₹50 for Ujjwala and non-Ujjwala consumers. "This means the price of each cylinder will go up from ₹500 to ₹550 for Ujjwala beneficiaries. For others, it will go up from ₹803 to ₹853," Minister Puri added.
