OpenAI has partnered with AMD, NVIDIA, Intel, Broadcom, and Microsoft to release Multipath Reliable Connection (MRC), a new open networking protocol. MRC improves communication between GPU clusters and reduces network congestion by sending data packets through different paths, balancing load. It supports AI supercomputers with over 1 lakh GPUs, more efficiently than traditional networking designs.
