NYU mathematician Tristan Buckmaster, who hinted OpenAI may have used his work for its claimed Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize solution, said OpenAI offered him two proposals. He rejected both, including one involving publication timing and another excluding Anthropic's Levent Alpöge from authorship. Buckmaster alleged OpenAI researcher Sébastien Bubeck then asked, "Why would you ruin your career?"
