OpenAI has warned against unauthorised opportunities to gain exposure to the company through various means, including special purpose vehicles (SPVs). "Our equity cannot be directly or indirectly transferred unless the seller first obtains OpenAI's written consent," the AI startup said. "Any attempted transfer, including pledge/encumbrance...that doesn't follow this requirement is void," it added.
