Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske has criticised the Opposition, claiming that it is spreading misinformation that Waqf (Amendment) Act is "against the Muslim community". He added, "We are amending the law to ensure that poor people from Muslim community benefit." Earlier, the Supreme Court instructed the Centre not to denotify Waqf properties registered under 1995 Waqf Act until May 5.
