After the Lok Sabha rejected the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, which sought to link women's reservation with delimitation, Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticised the Opposition. "INDI Alliance and Congress defeated the Women's Reservation Bill...They will have to pay the price for this," he said. The bill failed to secure the required two-thirds majority in the House.
