The Joint Committee of Parliament on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill adopted its draft report on Wednesday. Following this, Opposition MPs submitted their dissent notes to the report and alleged that the bill would undermine the Muslims' rights. Congress members alleged the Bill is driven by political agenda and will lead to litigation, encroachment and loss of autonomy over Waqf institutions.
