An 'orange' alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain across six Uttarakhand districts on Monday, the Met Department said. It warned of lightning accompanied by strong winds in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. In response, Dehradun DM Savin Bansal ordered all schools and Anganwadi centres to remain shut for Classes 1 to 12.
