According to an animal rescue charity, orangutans face complete extinction in the next 10 years unless preservation measures are taken. The species, native of Indonesian and Malaysian forests, appeared on the critically endangered list last month. Reportedly, 76 million acres of Indonesia's forests have disappeared in the last 25 years, which is cited as a major cause for the endangerment.
