The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has directed that manufacturing of blended vegetable oil with mustard oil as an ingredient will be prohibited from October 1. The move is aimed at the consumption of pure mustard oil in the public interest, it added. Until now, companies were allowed to mix 20% of other edible oil in mustard oil.
