There are 4,13,670 beggars in India and West Bengal has the highest with 81,244 beggars, according to the 2011 census, Union Social Justice Minister told the Rajya Sabha. After Bengal, Uttar Pradesh is second on the list with 65,835 beggars, while Andhra Pradesh is third with 30,218 beggars. Meanwhile, with only two beggars, Lakshadweep has the lowest.
