Outgoing Bihar Assembly Speaker VK Sinha nominated JD(U) leader Narendra Narayan Yadav to chair the post-lunch Assembly session after resigning on Wednesday. State Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari said, "It appears that [Sinha] did not want a Dalit to preside over the House…By denying me the opportunity, he…insulted Dalits." However, Yadav later announced that Hazari shall preside over the session.
