The Tamil Nadu police have booked 1,274 people across the state for various violations on the first day of the 21-day lockdown imposed due to coronavirus by the central government. Out of these, 1,252 people were booked for violating the prohibitory orders under Section 144 in force in the state. FIRs were registered against 16 people for spreading rumours.
