Over 2 crore Aadhaar numbers of deceased people have been deactivated by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This was done as part of a nationwide clean-up effort to maintain the continued accuracy of the Aadhaar database, PIB stated. UIDAI said that one can report the death of their family members for the deletion of their Aadhaar numbers.
