According to Unique Identification Authority of India data, over 25% of SIM cards have been linked with Aadhaar till July. Notably, linking of Aadhaar number with SIM card has been made mandatory for all citizens by the government. Reportedly, the government plans to deactivate SIM cards not linked to Aadhaar by February 2018.
