Over 300 people gathered in Germany's Nuremberg to hear a sermon generated by ChatGPT. The service was led by four avatars on a screen above the altar. Theologian Jonas Simmerlein, who "conceived" the service, said about 98% of the sermon "came from the machine". ChatGPT told the congregation to not fear death and go to church regularly, among other things.
