Over 37,000 railway bridges in India are 100 years old, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Asserting that the age of the bridge is not directly related to its physical condition, the minister said the bridges are inspected twice a year. The Indian Railways has a total of over 1.36 lakh bridges.
