Union MoS for Education Jayant Chaudhary, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, reported that nearly 4.71 lakh pirated NCERT books, fake NCERT watermarked paper, and printing equipment worth over ₹20 crore were seized in raids at 29 locations across India since 2024. He noted that the commercial interests of unauthorised players largely drove the illegal activities.
