More than 42 million Americans cast early votes in the run-up to Tuesday's midterm elections, the US Elections Project said on Monday. According to the website, 39.1 million early votes had been cast by the same point in the 2018 midterms. The US went to polls on Tuesday to elect 435 House of Representatives members and one-third of the Senate.
