Over 5,000 nurses of govt-run hospitals go on 48-hour strike in Maharashtra

Over 5,000 nurses of government hospitals in 24 districts of Maharashtra including 1,300 nurses of Mumbai's JJ Hospital began a 48-hour strike on Wednesday for their several demands. The nurses are demanding 100% recruitment, promotions and COVID-19 allowance. They are protesting against excessive workload and no leaves. This comes after the nurses protested for two hours on Monday and Tuesday.
