Over 8,00,000 bees stolen in Australia

An estimated 8,00,000 bees worth tens of thousands of dollars have been stolen from commercial beehives in northern Australia. Around 44 colonies were taken from three beekeepers, one beekeeper told The Guardian. The thieves removed the brood boxes containing the bees, transferred the frames to their own boxes and reassembled the empty hives to avoid detection.
