Overcooked potatoes, burnt toast could cause cancer: FSA

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned that eating overcooked potatoes and burnt toast can increase the risk of cancer. The risk has been linked with consumption of too much acrylamide, a chemical found in starchy foods cooked at high temperatures, and has been shown to cause cancer in animals. The warning also covers cereals, biscuits and chips, among others.
