Stimulant laxatives increase intestinal motility but are associated with adverse effects such as electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, abdominal cramping, and potential dependency with prolonged use. Chronic overuse may impair colonic function. If you notice dizziness, cramps, or frequent dependence, consult a doctor instead of continuing use.
