AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the move to recite Vedic mantras at IIT-Delhi's convocation ceremony, which saw PM Narendra Modi as the chief guest. Subsequently, IIT-Delhi sources said chanting of mantras at convocation is part of the institute's 57-year-old tradition, reported Times Now. They added that graduating students are required to stand until the academic procession reaches dais.
