Oxford accepts 'arey', 'yaar' as English words

Hindi words 'arey' and 'yaar' have been included in the Oxford English Dictionary along with other words like, 'churidar', 'bhelpuri' and 'dhaba'. While the word 'arey' was first used in English in 1845, 'churidar' was first used in 1880. 'Yaar', which has been defined as 'friend, mate' in the dictionary, saw its first English usage in 1963.
