Padikkal falls 5 runs short of breaking Dravid's 17-yr-old Sri Lanka record

Indian batter Devdutt Padikkal fell five runs short of breaking Rahul Dravid's long-standing record against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Padikkal scored 44 (75) in second innings, taking his match aggregate to 211 runs. This is the most by an Indian number three batter in a men's Test since Dravid's aggregate of 215 runs in the Ahmedabad Test in 2009.
