Padma Shri awardee actor Tom Alter died of skin cancer at the age of 67 on Friday in Mumbai. Alter, born to American parents in Mussoorie, had won a gold medal in acting from Pune's Film and Television Institute of India. He acted in over 300 TV shows and movies, like Veer-Zaara and Junoon, and was also a sports journalist.
