The State Bank of Pakistan has turned down Imran Khan-led government’s request to open the Afghanistan Relief Fund fearing Financial Action Task Force (FATF) sanctions. This comes after the federal government decided to start an account to get donations for Afghanistan amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The central bank has asked the government to review its decision.
