Pak gets $2 bn lifeline from Saudi amid strained external finances

Pakistan has received a $2 billion financial lifeline from Saudi Arabia, offering temporary relief to its strained external finances and foreign exchange reserves. Earlier, reports indicated that Pakistan had secured $3 billion in funding to shore up reserves and offset a loan repayment to the UAE. Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $16.4 billion as of March 27.
