Pak to import sugar at PKR 220/kg to address shortage: Report

Pakistan government has reportedly taken a decision to import 1 million metric tonnes of sugar at an inflated price of PKR 220/kg. This has been done to address the shortage caused by misleading claims provided by sugar mill owners, who falsely claimed that the country had a satisfactory domestic stock, reported Geo News. Official price of sugar was PKR 100/kg.
