Pakistan's military criticised the Taliban over alleged ties with India and accused it of abandoning Islamic values. Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry made the remarks after an Afghan Taliban minister said India and Afghanistan "share the same DNA". Chaudhry cited a Quranic verse and said Muslims should not befriend "kaafirs" (disbelievers).
