Pakistan facing major water shortage

Pakistan is heading into Rabi cropping season with projected water shortfall of around 25%, as shrinking reservoir reserves and weak river flows leave the country facing another major agricultural challenge.The expected availability for Rabi is only around 21-22 million acre-feet, well below estimated requirement. This comes amid continuing India-Pakistan dispute over Indus Waters Treaty.
