'Patient Zero' didn't cause AIDS outbreak in US: Study

New research has removed blame from a gay man, dubbed 'Patient Zero', who allegedly 'introduced HIV/AIDS into US'. Canadian flight attendant Gaétan Dugas died of AIDS in 1984 after assisting with studies into whether it was caused by a sexually transmitted agent. Genetic techniques revealed that the virus entered US in the 1970s from a pre-existing epidemic in the Caribbean.
